what was madoka magicka even about? is that what you just watched?

it’s a magical girl anime, and everyone always describes it as dark and edgy or whatever and up through the first 8 or so episodes I was just like ‘okay big deal so people are actually DYING, WHATEVER’

but for the last 4 episodes it’s just like in Neon Genesis Evangelion when the whole thing suddenly goes grand cosmos-scale and it is just CRAZY and makes NO SENSE
